The Greater High Point Food Alliance (GHPFA) strives to develop a just and sustainable food system through coordinated efforts, aligned investments, and policy change. We seek a persuasive, responsible, collaborative, and creative problem solver as our next Executive Director (ED), who will foster strong community relationships, grow through new partnerships, and collaborate with other organizations engaged in addressing food insecurity and hunger. The ED oversees all operations of GHPFA, guiding community vision and strategy related to alleviating food insecurity. The work includes governance and leadership management; community engagement and advocacy; and financial and organizational management.
Davidson County Local Food Network (DCLFN) is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as the Executive Director. This part-time role offers an exciting opportunity to lead our efforts in promoting community health and strengthening the local economy through an equitable and economically viable local food system.
Position Details:
Classification: Part-time (15-20 hours per week)

Role and Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic and operational activities of DCLFN.
Work closely with the Board of Directors and staff to manage operations, provide strategic direction, and ensure long-term sustainability.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with foundations, corporations, local businesses, and community partners.
Oversee programs like FarmSHARE, Farm Fresh Nourish, and other food access initiatives.
Manage program budgets and financial reporting.
Represent DCLFN at community events and engage in active outreach.

Background
Since 1962, High Point Arts Council has provided programs, services, and has collaborated with businesses, individuals, foundations, and the government to raise funds and distribute grants to the arts and design community in greater High Point. The main fund-raising program, the annual Arts Fund Drive, raises funds to support not only the High Point Arts Council, but also to provide grant awards to other arts and design nonprofits in the area. In 2012, the Arts Council celebrated its 50th Anniversary and purchased Centennial Station, creating the first permanent Arts Center in High Point, and as of 2021, the building is fully owned by the Arts Council. ● Grassroots Grants: This funding comes from the North Carolina Arts Council, and we work in collaboration with the Arts Council of Greater Greensboro to disseminate it throughout Guilford County.
● Professional Development Grants: Artists can receive grants to participate in cohorts such as the Artful Business Cohort and the Positive Intelligence Cohort to help develop skills for success as an artist in Guilford County.
The High Point Arts Council is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit that has worked for more than 60 years to build a better High Point through the support of and advocacy for the arts. High Point Arts Council is governed by a 15 to 20-person Board of Directors and has three full-time (including the President) and one part-time employee with an annual operating budget of $700,000.

General Duties: To provide support of CIS resource development and communications management. The Development and Communications Specialist will report to and serve as a critical thought partner to the Executive Director; this position has external community and internal organizational responsibilities, helping to develop, implement, and advance strategic initiatives, and partnership development. The ideal candidate will be a professional who is adept at community and stakeholder engagement at a high-level, as well as managing nonprofit operations functions and deliverables.
Strategic Management and Leadership:
Provide thought-leadership on key topics impacting youth and/or emerging issue
Upholding the mission, vision and narrative points of CIS-High Point at its highest-level to stakeholders, staff, parents & community
Helps communicate organization goals and funding needs to community, CISHP staff and Board Resource
Development and Communication:
Assist Executive Director to plan and implement a resource development strategy to satisfy operating and program funding needs.
Cultivate and steward donors and prospects
Create electronic and printed materials intended for investors and supporters; manage execution of distribution.
Implement, evaluate and refine special events.
Research RFPs and draft grant proposals with Executive Director.
When necessary, attend all CIS related, sponsored and/or special events works with other program directors in coordinating activities at school sites.
Carries out all other duties and assignments as determined by the Executive Director.
Operational and Data:
Manage record keeping on all donors and gifts in database.
Prepare monthly development report
Assist Executive Director with grant reporting to funders
Board/Volunteer Relations:
Support Board committees as assigned.

Education & Experience
Bachelors preferred in nonprofit management, business, marketing or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of prior development experience required. Experience with DonorView software preferred.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of prior event management experience.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of prior communications and/or CIS experience preferred.
